Lazella J. ""Lou"" Roerig, 84, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
Lazella was born Sept. 19, 1928, in Cleveland, and was a graduate of Shaw High School.
On Feb. 8, 1947, Lou married her sweetheart, Eddie. For 65 years, they made their home in the Mentor Headlands where they raised their family.
Lou worked at Sterling Morton Elementary School as a secretary before retiring in 1993.
She loved to spend time with her family, friends and grandchildren. Lou was a wife, mother, grandma, sister, daughter, aunt and a friend to many.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Barbara (Frank) Whitaker and David Roerig; grandchildren, Julie (Jeff) Kunz and Mandie (Matt) Riha; niece, Judy (Don) Whitlow; sisters-in-law, Leona Cox and Sister Adelaide Landoll; and many more loving relatives.
Lou was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward, in 2012; her mother, Elizabeth Brazie; and her sisters, Suzanne Lane and Estelle Clarke.
A Graveside Service and celebration of life for both Lou and Edward will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Mentor Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Blessing Crematory in Mentor.
