Lorraine J. Raybuck, 70, of Mentor for the past 43 years, formerly of New Haven, Conn., died Sunday June 16, 2013, at Hospice House, Cleveland. She was born Dec. 30, 1942, in New Haven, Conn.
Mrs. Raybuck was a homemaker. She enjoyed supporting her grandchildren in their various pursuits, creating gift baskets for local fundraisers, reading and traveling. Her true gift and calling was caring for her husband, children and grandchildren. Lorraine attended St. Stanislaus grade school and was a graduate of Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven, Conn. She was an avid supporter both financially and creatively of "Color your Corner" Children's Charity. She was one of the founding members of St. John Vianney's Parish in Mentor.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Karl W. Raybuck; three daughters, Halle (Francis) Chiappone of Mentor-on-the-Lake, Karen Raybuck of Mentor and Justine (James) Morrison of Mentor; her beloved grandchildren, Blase E., Karli J. and Carmen B. Chiappone, Parker J. and Anika C. Morrison; sisters, Barbara (Robert) Zygmunt of Wallingford, Conn. and Anita (Steven) Bencivengo of Guilford, Conn.
Preceding Lorraine in death were her parents, George V. and Jane A. Kafka; and brother, Walter Kafka.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave, Mentor and Friday 12:15 to 1 p.m. at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. The Funeral mass will be 1 p.m. Friday at the church. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, in Chardon Township.
