Funeral Mass for Mary Ann McCann, 78, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor.
Mrs. McCann passed away peacefully Sunday, March 17, 2013, in her home.
Born Nov. 24, 1934, in Oklahoma City, Okla., she had lived in Mentor for the past 54 years, where she raised a family and was an active member of many Catholic and civic organizations.
Mary Ann was a flight attendant with Northwest Orient Airlines based in Seattle, Wash., when she met, fell in love with and married James T. McCann. The newlyweds moved back to his hometown, where they started a dental practice and their family.
She was a loving mother and wife and a dear friend to many. Mary Ann had an infectious fun-loving spirit and a sense of humor that brought frequent laughter to everyone that knew her.
Mary Ann has been reunited with her husband, James T. McCann; son, James T. McCann Jr.; parents, Theodore and Mary M. (Brady) Harmon; and brother, Theodore David Harmon.
She was the loving mother of Mary M. McCann of Philadelphia, Pa., Kathleen M. (Patrick) Corrigan of Lakewood, Michael J. McCann of Berea, Margaret E. (Kevin) Popa of Fort Meyers, Fla., Joseph P. (Angela) McCann of Hilliard and William D. McCann of Willoughby; cherished grandmother of Matthew, Joseph, Grace, Patrick, Caitlin, Emma and Colin; devoted sister of Michael L. (Sharon) Harmon of Katy, Texas, and James Anthony (Roza) Harmon.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, where the Christ Child Society will conduct a Rosary service at 5:15 p.m. Father Thomas Johns will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
