Mary Frances Kilko, age 87, of Windsor, Ohio, stepped into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 9, 2014, at UH Geauga Medical Center in Chardon, Ohio.
Mary Kilko was born June 2, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the firstborn of three children to Milton and Jennie Mai (Derseweh) Groskopf of Cleveland.
On June 15, 1946, she married Syia Kilko. Together they had seven children: Sharon (Tom) Hoopes of Huntsburg, Ohio; Karon (Fred) Bates of Madison, Ohio; Robert (Jane) Kilko of Niteroi, Brazil; Linda (Gordon) Wall of Waterford, Michigan; Becky (Walt) Richardson of Ankeny, Iowa; Rachel (Paul) Overton of Cortland, Ohio; and Donna (Ernie) Groskopf of Windsor, Ohio.
Mary also leaves behind twenty-four grandchildren; fifty-one great-grandchildren; a brother, Ernest Groskopf of Peoria, Arizona; and a brother-in-law, Charles Anderson of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her husband Syia and sister Jennie Mai.
Mary was an all-around artist. She used her natural talents in many ways. She designed greeting cards for American Greetings, designed and sewed bridal gowns, and created amazing wedding and other special-occasion cakes. Her crowning achievements are her beautiful landscape paintings on canvas which can be found around the world. Mary was a member of the Huntsburg Baptist Church for over sixty years, where she loved helping in AWANA, with ladies' events, and singing in the choir. She was an important member of the missionary committee.
Visitation and Services will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014, at the Huntsburg Baptist Church, 16401 Mayfield Road, Huntsburg, Ohio. Friends may call at 11:00 a.m. The Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Windsor Township Cemetery.
