Relatives and friends are invited to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial for Mary T. (nee Duffy) Giblin, 81, of Highland Hts., at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014, at St. Helen Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Rd. Newbury. Fr. Jay McPhillips will officiate. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
Mrs. Giblin passed away March 2, 2014, at Hospice House in Cleveland.
She was born Nov. 16, 1932, in Cleveland.
Mary was a resident of Highland Heights since 1989 after moving from South Euclid. She was a current member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Newbury and previous member of St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church. A graduate of Ursuline Academy, Mary was a homemaker. In her free time, Mary enjoyed traveling, playing cards like "25" and Pinochle, watching movies and spending time with her family – especially sleepovers with the grandchildren. Her family will remember her as a loving, joyful, exuberant woman who loved life, had a great sense of humor and was truly one-of-a-kind.
Survivors are her children, son, Bill (Denise) of St. Petersburg, FL, daughters, Marian Dodson (husband Dan) of South Euclid, Kathy DeJohn (husband Joe) of Concord, Linda Auger (husband Glenn) of Kirtland, Ann Dever (husband Dan) of Concord and Sharon Hoenigman (husband Dan) of Newbury; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother Patrick Duffy; She was also the dear aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend of many.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William "Frank" Giblin; parents, Patrick and Marie (nee Brock) Duffy; and sister-in-law Mary Duffy.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Mary from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road (between Bishop Road and Route 91).
