Michele Marguerite Rogers

Michele Marguerite Rogers, of Willoughby, peacefully passed away at home April 25, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Feb. 14, 1933, in Akron, to the late Thomas Martin Fitzgerald and Miriam Ernestine (Tipton) Boros.
Michele grew up on the near west side of Cleveland and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1951. She graduated, president of her class from St. Vincent Charity School of Nursing in 1954.
She worked as a nurse at Charity Hospital, the VA Hospital, and Booth Memorial Hospital before co-founding Womankind Maternal and Prenatal Care Center in 1975.
Michele, nicknamed Mick, Mickey, and Chele was an avid reader who enjoyed daily meditation and prayer, going out to eat, music, Irish culture, summer trips to Catawba Island, and playing solitaire and rummy with family and friends. She was inspired by and celebrated the literary works of John O'Donohue. Michele was a peaceful listener with a dry, winning wit that charmed many.
She married Ronald Keith Rogers and raised their family first in Cleveland, then in East Cleveland and later in Wickliffe. She found deepest enjoyment in the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, her dearest sister Joan, and her nieces and nephews. Michele also found deep purpose as a caregiver and advocate for pregnant women and healthy babies, devoting her life to Womankind, and servicing women and their families unconditionally for over 35 years in the greater Cleveland area.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Martin Fitzgerald; mother, Miriam Ernestine Boros; stepfather, Carl Rhodes; infant children, William Gerard and Maria Del Pia; and loving husband, Ronald Keith Rogers.
Survivors include her sister, Joan Schwab; children, John (Rosemarie) Mary Barsic (Robert), Mark (Sandy), Cathy Dodson (Bob), Molly Fabo (Ronald), Thomas (Leisha), Kevin (Mary), James (Heather), and Maura (Christen); grandchildren, Timothy, John, Caitlin, Micheal, Melissa, Rebecca, Katrina, Brittany, Bobby, Christopher (Sharon), Dustin (Courtney), Heather (Tony), William, Jennifer, Jacquelyne, Abigail, Andrew Joseph, Lisa, David, Shannon, Brian, Erin, Sherilyn, Megan, Jacob and Tyler; and great-grandchildren, Anthony, Isabelle, Brianna, David, Adrienne, Jacob, and Mykaela.
