Mildred "Millie" (Brackney) Wright, 98, of Chardon Township, formerly of Eaton, died Oct. 18, 2013, at Blossom Hill Care Center in Huntsburg.
Born Sept. 8, 1915, in Wilmington, Ohio, to John "Jack" and Lillian (Peale) Brackney, she was a teacher with Eaton Schools for 30 years.
Millie was an avid musician who specialized in accompanying musicians, dancers and singers. A graduate of Wilmington College, Millie was first chair violinist as well as pianist for dances in the area. She met her husband of 60 years, Charles Wright, at such a dance. She was an expert quilter and made a large collection of porcelain dolls. Millie was baptized a Quaker and was the principal organist with three Methodist churches during her life.
She was loved and will be greatly missed by her children, Rod (Linda) of Townville, S.C., Lil (Ed) Robinette and Rae Guckian, both of Dayton and Peggy (Randy) Elliott of Chardon Township; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many extended family.
Millie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Ryan; five brothers; and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held in Eaton in November.
