Neil E. Reeder, age 82, of Chardon, died on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at the Geauga Medical Center in Chardon.
He was born in Piqua, Aug. 1, 1931, to Maynard and Beatrice (Nee: McQueen) Reeder.
Mr. Reeder was a graduate of Piqua High School in 1949, The Ohio State University
and served in the US Army as a Tank Unit Commander in Germany. Mr. Reeder retired as a Soil Scientist for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources in Northeast Ohio and his consulting company Terra-Tech Enterprises. His published science records are in the Library of Congress.
Survivors include his children, Kathy Ann (Donald) Baird of Chardon, Gayle (Scott) Stewart of Anderson, S.C., and Gary (Donna) Reeder of Guyton, Ga; ten grandchildren; brothers, Carl (Arizona) Reeder and Max (Charlene) Reeder, both of Piqua; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at the Chardon United Methodist Church, 515 North St., Chardon, OH 44024.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service.
