Paul M. Pira

Mass of Christian Burial for Paul M. Pira, 73, of Madison will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor.
Born Feb. 23, 1940, in Cleveland, Mr. Pira passed away July 21, 2013.
Paul was an educator for more than 50 years teaching at many schools and colleges. He taught at Lake Catholic High School, Brush High School and Hebrew Academy. He began his teaching career at Garfield Heights High School, and he was also a professor at Lakeland Community College and Ursuline College.
He enjoyed fishing and both listening to and playing guitar.
Paul is survived by his wife, Sheila (Connelly) Pira; sons, Paul (Mitzi) Pira of Saybrook and Tim (Cheri) Pira of Painesville; daughter, Shannon (Mark) Lopez of Munson Township; grandchildren, Rachel, Sean, Colin, Bethany, Maria, Olivia, Anthony, Even, Fintan and Jaxsen; sister, Nancy (Paul) Kepchar of Chester Township.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Evelyn Pira; and his parents, Joseph and Antoinette (Kleir) Pira
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville.
