Robert J. Bogert, 89, of Wickliffe, passed away Jan. 4, 2014, at Euclid Hospital.
Born Feb. 12, 1924, in Newark, N.J., he was a resident of Wickliffe since 1952.
Mr. Bogert grew up in New Jersey. He attended college at Virginia Tech, Columbia University and NYU. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church where he served as church usher, Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus. He coached little league sports for many years and served in the U.S. Navy
. He also enjoyed golf, bowling, stamp collecting, dancing, reading and pinochle.
Survivors are his children, John (Sandra) Bogert, Daniel (Paola) Bogert, Lorraine Coyne, Andrea (Ray Pawlowski) Byrne, Marcia (Mark) Littleton and Tama (Randy) Bogert; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; sisters, Rita (Bob) Dambach and Valerie (Jack) Wilson; companion, Olga Grund; and former wife, Betty Bogert.
He was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Bogert.
A Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Orlando-Donsante Funeral Home, 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe.
