Robert M. Karney, 82, of Rock Creek, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland.
He was born May 16, 1931, in Cleveland, to Leona (Morris) and Thomas Karney and married Frances Holdren on May 6, 1950, in Cleveland.
Mr. Karney was a graduate of Collinwood High School where he ran state track and participated in most sports. Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War
, stationed in Korea as a sergeant in a field hospital. He was a hardworking man who supported his family and retired as a machinist from National Acme. He loved watching pro wrestling.
Robert is survived by his wife, Frances Karney; son, Robert (Kathy) Karney; grandchildren, Amber and Bobby Karney; and great-granddaughter, Natalie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; cherished stepfather, Clayton Becker; and his brother, Tom Karney.
Friends will be received 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 South Broadway, Geneva. Memorial services will immediately follow at noon.
