Relatives and friends are invited to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial for Rose M. (Magyar) O'Donnell, 78, of Willoughby Hills, at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, at St. John of the Cross (formerly St. Felicitas) Church, 140 Richmond Road, Euclid. Officiating the ceremony will be her nephew, Fr. Tom Fanta.
Rose passed away March 16, 2014, at Richmond Heights Hospital.
She was born November 23, 1935, in Cleveland.
Rose taught 7th and 8th grade English at St. Felicitas/St. John of the Cross School. She was a Eucharistic minister. She graduated from Lourde Academy and received her Bachelors degree from Ohio University. Rose enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. She also loved watching sports. Spending time with her grandchildren gave her the greatest joy. Her family remembers her as warm and loving. She made people feel special and was a great homemaker. Her faith, her family and friends filled her with joy.
Survivors are her spouse of 56 years, Larry O'Donnell; son, John (Patrice) O'Donnell; daughters, Peg (Gary) Osborne and Mary Kay (Chris) O'Donnell; grandchildren, Madeleine, Ian, Erin, Shane,
Kathleen, Larry and Megan; brother, John Magyar; and sisters, Clare Fanta, Marge Kromer and Dolores McGaffey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret (Porinchok) Magyar; and her son, Larry.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road (between Bishop Road & Rt. 91).
Family suggests contributions may be made in Rose's memory to West Side Catholic Center, 3135 Lorain Ave., Cleveland, Oh 44113.
