Roy Davis, 91, formerly of Madison, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012, in Willoughby.
Born Sept. 6, 1920, in Cincinnati, to Ethel (Brown) and Frank Davis, he married Dolores "Dodie" Allen Oct. 26, 1940, in Milford.
Mr. Davis was a patent attorney.
He was a Army
veteran of World War II
. He graduated from law School and was known for his bow ties, pipe and inscrutable smile. He was a devoted husband for 58 years, an avid reader, an Indy car enthusiast and a former member of the Madison Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, gardening, raising prototype roses, traveling and doing puzzles.
Survivors are his sister-in-law, Barbara Zimmerman; and nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Davis; and parents.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, 11521 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland, OH 44026. Services will be officiated by Dr. Russell Martin.
