Steve "Ray" Jaksa, age 83, a Korean War
veteran, died Dec. 28, 2012.
Ray enjoyed every sport in the world. He coached Little League softball and football in Willowick, where he lived with his family for 37 years.
Ray specialized in structural steel for many years, and was employed by Paterson-Leitch Corporation, Epic Steel Company and Lazurus Steel. He enjoyed teaching the difficult detailing of steel fabrication. In his later years, he turned to bird-watching, cooking, astronomy, gardening and studying his Croatian heritage. Ray will be greatly missed.
He was the beloved husband of Alice (nee Speedy); dear dad of Steven (Judy), Joanie Nichols (Frank), and Barb; cherished grandfather of Amy (Eric), Frank (Elizabeth), Nick, Sarah; great-grandfather of Shane; and stepgrandfather of Nicole.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Mike and Mary (nee Piskovitch) Jaksa; and siblings, Edward (Glenda), Barbara Toth (nee Jaksa), Jim (Jean).
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Brickman Bros. Funeral Home, 37433 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, OH 44094.
