Funeral Mass for Virginia Mae (nee Carraher) Muehlhauser, 86, of Painesville Township, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Fr. Michael Troha will officiate the Mass.
Mrs. Muehlhauser passed away April 28, 2013, at LakeMed Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Painesville.
Born Aug. 15, 1926, in Willoughby, she had been a Lake County resident for 76 years, having lived in Willoughby for most of her life, Streetsboro for 10 years, and then moved to Painesville Township.
She graduated from Lake Erie College. Virginia was a member of both St. Mary's in Mentor and Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, and was a member of The Christ Child Society and Legion of Mary.
Mrs. Muehlhauser worked as a teacher for 25 years in elementary schools including St. Mary of the Assumption in Mentor and Assumption School in Geneva.
She was the beloved wife of Neil H. Muehlhauser for 63 years; loving mother of Nancy (John) Goodwin, Lynn (Richard) Cooper, Craig (Denise) Muehlhauser, Dan (Denise) Muehlhauser and Laurel (Joe) Crusse; devoted grandmother of Uri, Adam, Karla, Tanya, Justin, Shannon, Kelsey, Elise, Charity and John; great-grandmother of Roan, Nathan, Ethan, Rosalee, Abby, Uri Jr., Jacob, Tyler, Chandler and Brianna; and sister of Don Carraher of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Gertrude (nee Carrel) Carraher.
