Walter William White

Walter William White, 83, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, passed away March 14, 2014, at Heather Hill in Chardon.
He was born on April 9, 1931, in Painesville, to Walter and Georgia White.
Walter graduated from Harvey High School and attended two years at Tennessee State University. He was a member of Union Congregational Church, Painesville and worked over 30 years for the city of Painesville. During his years of employment he received several awards and recognitions. His passion in life was for his family and his harness horses and was a proud member of Ohio Harness Horseman's Assoc.
Survivors are his wife Marlene J White of Mentor-on-the-Lake; children, Walter W White Jr. of Indianapolis, Scott J of Mentor-on-the-Lake, and Kelly (Andre')Tang of North Royalton; grandchildren, Lauren, Samantha, and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah and Cassidy; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Georgia Lee; sister, Frances Jean Hamilton; step-mother, Della Louise; and step-brother Edward Collins.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave. (Opposite Lake Erie College), Painesville, Ohio 44077.
