John A. "Jack" Edelman Sr., 85, of Gates Mills, died Feb. 1, 2013, in Ft. Myers, Fla.
Born Jan. 5, 1928, he lived in Euclid before moving to Gates Mills 29 years ago.
Jack was an avid golfer and bowler. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Windemere Council. He was an accountant for the former Harshaw Chemical Company from 1946 until his retirement in 1990.
Survivors are his wife, Mary (nee Murphy); children, Mark (Linda), Marianne (Bob) Forrai, Lea (Mark) Crowley, John Jr. (Danette) and Eric (Joyce); grandchildren, Phillip, Jaye, Alex and Andrew Forrai, Kevin (fiancee Emily Miller), John, Adam, Brian and Michael Crowley, Kayley (fiance, Nick Lucci), John III and Megan Edelman, and Molly and Scott Edelman; great-granddaughter, Ava Forrai; siblings, Robert Edelman, Kathy Edelman (Jim Kellam), Karen Gamber and Mary (Ray) Bodmer; and sister-in-law, Josephine Edelman.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, JoAnne Betley, Richard and James Edelman; brother-in-law, Ted Betley; and sister-in-law, Barbara Edelman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6850 Mayfield Road, Gates Mills. Burial will take place at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brickman Bros. Funeral Home, 37433 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
