Emma Garofalo Obituary
The daughter of Sebastian and Rose (Rao) DeCarlo was born June 1, 1929, in Novara di Sicilia, Sicily, and passed away Sept. 26, 2013, at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township.
Emma was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Carmelo, whom she married on Aug. 8, 1955; sons, John (Renee) Garofalo of Sagamore Hills and Charles Garofalo of Highland Heights; daughters, Susanna (Terry) McManus of Painesville Township and Rosanna Garofalo of Lombard, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Debbie Garofalo; brother, Anthony (Rita) DeCarlo; stepsister, Rosemary (Richard) Call; and grandchildren,
Hallie, Jennifer (Richard), Darcie (Mark), Erin, Brian and Jayne.
Emma was preceded in death by her son, Phillip James Garofalo in 1994; and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Philip James Garofalo Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Perry Township Fire Department, P.O. Box 439, Perry, OH 44081.

Dear Garofalo family, my prayers are with you at this most difficult time. Your mother was a very important and loved woman of our Painesville community. I remember all the times I'd go with my Dad as a young girl to the store and return bottles and your Mom would always greet us with a big HELLO and smile at the back door! She will be missed! <3

Dear Rosanna, Sue, Chuck, and John: Thank you for sharing your mom with me. I enjoyed visiting with her on each and every one of my visits in 2012. I loved her stories about her trip to America, when she dated your dad and then when they married. I don't need to tell you that her eggplant parmasean holds a special place in my heart and I am so happy that your mom taught me how to make it. We met Grandma in the US in April when we visited for the American celebration of her grand-daughter Jennifer's wedding to our son, Richard. We loved her immediately and now have a gap in our hearts. Our condolences to all her family and friends.
