I loved Mr Mackey.. I met him while working for a bank. Come to find out he worked with my grandpa on the railroad. The kindest man I've ever met. He would bring me in coleslaw that he made. Got hugs every time I saw him. Haven't seen him in years, and very sad to come across this... RIP Mr Mackey..

I will always remember Donnie and his many stories and his famous whistle while growng up and hanging around Holsons Service Station with my Dad and all the station cronies. He was one great man and will be missed.

I will always remember Mr. Mackey's kindness. We called him "Grandpa Mackey" because he treated us all as his grandchildren. He leaves behind a legacy of love.

He always had the honorary title of "Grandpa Mackey" from the entire Horvath family. Condolences from a sailor in South Texas who will always appreciate what he did for Cleveland and for our great country.

Mr. Mackey was a nothing shy of a class act. The world has lost another true hero. May his friends and family take comfort in knowing he lived an amazingly accomplished existence.

Uncle Don was one in a million. Life will be a bit duller without his hearty greeting of "Hiya from Baja," his trademark whistle, his wonderful stories about his time in the war (WWII), and his recitation from Beowulf! See-ya in heaven!
