Alice Malloy Obituary
Born March 9, 1920, in Amsterdam, Ohio, she had been a resident of Chester Township for 42 years.
She was a member of St. Anselm Church, worked on the Geauga County Board of Election and was a surgical nurse in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mrs. Malloy worked as a registered nurse at Geauga Hospital, retiring in 1986.
Survivors are her husband of 55 years, John; children, Catherine A. Malloy (Ken Vaught), John J. Malloy, Alice F. Malloy (Reg Oberlag), and Mary N. Malloy; grandchildren, Anna and John Vaught; and sister, Sophie M. Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sophia (nee Kobilarcik) Ridzon; and brother, Henry Ridzon.
Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township.
Funeral services will be held 11 am.. Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Saint Anselm Church, 12969 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Wakeman.
The family suggests contributions to Geauga county Department of Aging (Meals on Wheels), 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Chardon, OH 44024.
