Marie Curtiss Obituary
Born Dec. 7, 1928, in Mansfield, she had been a resident of Willoughby since 1992.
Marie was a member of the Lake County Wrinkled Writers Club and East End YMCA, participating every week in the Arthritis Swim Group.
Marie volunteered with the Arthritis Association and Lake Farm Park, was a charter and active member of Unity Church of Chesterland outside the church, Marie participated in a meditation and prayer group and a study group. She enjoyed the care she received and friends she met while residing at Emeritus at Willoughby, as well as being active in many resident activities.
Marie worked for many years as a record keeper in the personnel department at University Hospital, retiring in 1989.
Survivors are her sister-in-law, Betty; nieces, Gail, Linda, and Judith; and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Clara; and sister, Frieda.
Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2011, at The Chapel at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, 11521 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. Donna Van Oosten will officiate. Inurnment in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marie's name may be made to a favorite charity of your choice.

Marie had a most delightful Spirit, which I have been blessed to experience through our meditation group. Marie was a seeker, and sought the deeper Spiritual blessings that comes in many forms. Marie was very open, loving and caring of everyone. I will miss her and offer my condolences to her family.
I am gratefully blessed to have been able to spend time with her prior to her death.

Marie was such a precious lady. So special to my family. A long time friend from Unity. She had an infectious laugh that will not be forgotten. She will be missed.
