Esther Bell Obituary

Funeral Mass for Esther L. (Novotney) Bell, 82, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lake Shore Blvd., Mentor.
Mrs. Bell passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Mentor Way Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mentor with her family at her side.
Born March 29, 1929, in Uniontown, Pa., she had been a Lake County resident for the past 53 years, living in Mentor.
She was an active member of St. Bede the Venerable Church in Mentor, where she was a founding member of the Funeral Brunch Group at the church. She loved being with her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking and baking.
She was the loving mother of Daniel W. Bell of Painesville, Robert W. Bell of Mentor, Sharon L. (Brian) Carney of Willowick and Susan M. (Robert) Bleck of Mentor; cherished grandmother of Christopher (Cheryl), Stephen, Christina (Mark II) Thompson, Sarah, Benjamin, Jesse and Julia; great-grandmother of Mark Thompson III; sister of Betty (Thomas) Danko of Mentor; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Bell in 1997; parents, Charles and Anna (Oravec) Novotney; five brothers; and two sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St., (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Father Tim Plavac will officiate. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
