Carol Brace Obituary
Born May 31, 1938, in Cleveland, she had lived in Montville for the past 51 years.
Carol married Jim July 23, 1960, in Painesville and had just celebrated 51 years. Carol enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling with her husband, and was an avid bowler for over 30 years. When she wasn't mowing her yard, she was out walking her dog, Duke. She also enjoyed listening to Elvis.
Throughout the years, she volunteered at The Chardon Senior Center, Montville Ladies Aid, Election Poles in Montville, and had also helped with her children's school activities.
Survivors are her husband, Jim Brace of Montville; children, Judi (Paul) Maloney of Claridon, Jim (Dawn) Brace of Montville and JoAnna Brace of Montville; grandchildren, Kristi, Stormi, Pat, Emma, Rachel, Ed, Jon, D.J., and Michael; sisters, Jane Carlton of Painesville, twin, Nancy (Chuck) Parker of Painesville and Ruth (Dave) Goundrey of Mount Belvieu, Texas; brothers, Jim (Gail) Hayer of Painesville and Tom (Patti) Hayer of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ada Hayer.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., (Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Montville Cemetery.

Mr. Brace, Judy, Jim, JoAnna, and all the grandkids - words cannot express the sadness I feel at the loss of your loving wife, mother, grandmother. Judi and Jim....we are shocked and saddened to hear of the loss of your mother Carol. Although we didn't have the pleasure of knowing her personally, we've heard only great things about her. Jim,family and relatives. My deepest sympathy. I bowled with Carol for a few years in Chardon in the 70.s before my husband was killed in an auto accident.
