Sharon Painter Obituary

Sharon Lee Painter, 52, of Chardon, passed away July 2, 2011 following a 2 ½ year battle with cancer.
She was born April 19, 1959, in Painesville.
Sharon's passions were her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cared for all. Sharon loved animals and was heavily involved in horse competitions through the NBHA. She raised dogs and a variety of animals. She was also involved in animal rescue.
Sharon was a special needs bus driver for Chardon Local Schools for 10 years. She served as the president of the CACE Union until her illness. She was also a volunteer for the CASA Program of Geauga County.
She is survived by her husband, Ray E. Painter of Chardon whom she has been married to for the past 21 years; children, Michelle (Thomas) Wiece of Mayfield Village, Jennifer Korcykoski of Chagrin Falls, Ryan Painter of Streetsboro, and Dani Painter of Streetsboro; parents, Charles and Patricia Gebeau of South Russell; brother, Charles ""Chuck"" (Karen) Gebeau III of Bainbridge; and sister, Lynn Clark of South Russell. She was ffectionately known as Aunt Honey to her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephew.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, July 8, 2011, at The Church of St. Mary, 401 North St., Chardon.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (State Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon.
The family suggests contributions to the Hirsch Cancer Center, 6780 Mayfield Road, Cleveland, OH 44124 for consideration for the quality of care and special time Sharon was able to share with her family.
