I'm sorry for the loss of this young man. He was not a bad person; he was a sick person unable to get well, and more importantly, a human being doing the best he could in addiction. Rest in peace.

I knew Aaron: He was a sweet young man when i first met him. My family got to meet him wile he worked at lake east hosp. in the maintenance department. Our mother was in the icu. He saw me coming out of the elevators with my family. We told him about our mother and for the next few days Aaron would come up at breaks. He would bring coffee water and red bull for my sister and make all of us laugh. One of Ohio's famed snow storms hit and all of us girls cars were snowed in. Aaron showed up in a flannel shirt a pair of overalls and a shovel. He told all of us to go back in he would take care of this. He came upstairs an hour latter covered in snow. We all started calling him farmer Ted and the name just stuck with all of us. Aaron was a god send for me and my family. He made us laugh and took care of us and held each one of us when we started to cry. My family and I will always remember him and love him.

I also pray for healing and for God to comfort you all. Thank you for your honesty and in choosing NOT to sugarcoat this tragedy. I'm sure your brother had a lot more to give to himself, your family and the world. Once again I am so sorry. Becky Wright

My condolences to Aaron's family.
I am truly heartbroken over this. Aaron and I were Beavis and Butthead from the time we met in homeroom in junior high school until I took him to the Navy recruiting office a year after we graduated.
Because of this I know that he was meant for so much more and this is why I am heartbroken. Addiction stole his potential and I pray that this obituary saves at least one person out there. Leave addiction as a chapter in your life and not the last sentence.

My deepest sympathies to the Benedum Family. May Aaron rest with God----his struggle is finally over! I do not know your family and I did not know Aaron, but I am a recovering heroin addict. I know what it's like to want to stop but you just can't. Addiction ends up ruining everything around you and then it takes your life. I'm one of the truly lucky Addicts----I have 11 years clean. Recently it seems an extraordinary amount of heroin addicts are dying. I'm sorry Aaron had to be one of them! Oddly enough I found his obituary and the way it was written comforting! It's brutally honest and hopefully if somebody reads it, it might save them from dying! Once again my deepest condolences!! ❤

I am so saddened for you and your family at this most difficult time. RIP, Aaron.

There are not enough words that I can come up with to express my condolences. I, as a family member like so many others are also suffering from loved ones that are suffering from this addiction. It saddens me to the core. Not only around the world, but in my home state of Ohio, this epidemic is taking over.
I'm grateful to an extent that my siblings have not become addicted, so I can't relate to that. But I have family members that are. I've lost a numerous amount of friends. It has to STOP!!! And it needs to STOP NOW!!!! We need more beds, with longer treatment, extended follow up, etc....
You have been freed from your chains Aaron. I hope that you are resting peacefully, finally.

I'm so very sorry for the loss of your precious Aaron. I know too well what having a loved one that's an addict is like. I pray that you can find peace and comfort in knowing that Aaron is safe now. No more laying awake at night wondering and worrying about: If he's safe, is he cold, is he hungry, why haven't I heard from him, where is he.....Now as painful as losing a loved one is, your mind and heart can now start resting and healing in knowing that he is safe. He is pain free now and the horrible torment is finally over for him. This is what I kept reminding myself of after losing my brother.
Take good care of yourselves. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Saw the coverage on Ch. 5 out of Cleveland and then needed to come here. Deepest sympathies from me and my wife . Perhaps your heartfelt words will be read by someone or passed on, and will help save them before it is too late.
I recently made a visit to a dear relative in another state, who has battled addiction for many years, because the odds are high that I will probably never see her again, and that the same sad words will be said about her one day soon. Please accept our heartfelt condolences on your tragic loss.
