Delvin Leonard Forte

1933 - 2011

Delvin Leonard Forte, 77, of Painesville , passed away June 8, 2011, at Hospice House in Cleveland.
He was born to the late Daniel and Dolly Eptin Forte on September 17, 1933, in Raleigh Miss.
He was a member and Deacon at the Union Community Church in Concord Township and on the Executive Deacon Board. Delvin loved fishing, gardening and was a master carpenter, whose work is evident in many churches and homes throughout Lake County. His family and his work in the church were central to his enjoyment in life.
He retired from Stamco in Euclid in 1994 and previously had been with American Stamping.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha, whom he married in 1953; his children, Linda (Tyrone) Forte-Davenport of Detroit, Gregory (Lovey) Forte of Cincinnati, and Pamela Forte of Painesville; grandchildren, Charles, Gregory II , Autumn Grace, Lynette (Leo) Davenport and Simone (Ben) Clayton; great-grandchilden Angela, Auriana, and Tyrone Jaydon. He is also survived by a sister, Ernestine Jones, of Painesville, He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers; Joseph, Milton, Walter and Charles; and sisters Beatrice Hamilton, Eunice Lawson, and Rachael Hays.
Services will be 12 p.m. Saturday at The Union Community Church, 10959 Johnnycake Ridge Rd., Concord Township. Rev. Roddrick Coffee will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Painesville.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Painesville.
