Fred Wilburn Obituary
He was born June 27, 1917, in Dublin, Ga., to the late Willie and Lydia Wilburn.
Mr. Wilburn was a devoted member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Painesville, where he served as a Deacon. He was also affiliated with St. John Baptist Church in Painesville and Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Painesville. He was also a former member of IBPOEW in Painesville.
He worked at Chardon Rubber as a press operator and had also worked at the Red Hawk Restaurant in Concord Township and the Patrician Party Center in Eastlake.
Mr. Wilburn is survived by his children, Lydia B. Wright of Painesville and foster daughter, Frances "Tillie" Kyser of Painesville; grandchildren, Terrell A. Wright, Tiffany (Daryl) Duckworth, Tillietta Wright (fiance, William Turner), Damon Wilburn, Yvonne Alston, Leon Alston, Kiki, David and Jerrita and several great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank his special caregivers, LaVetta Jones and Mary Ann Jones.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Matilda Wilburn, who passed away Dec. 3, 1994; son, Fred Jr.; and brother-in-law, Willie Smith.
Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, May 13, 2011, at the church.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, May 13, 2011, at Union Community Church, 10959 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Concord Township, where The Rev. Roderick A. Coffee I, Pastor Floyd O'Neal and Pastor Eddie Colburn will officiate. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Painesville.
Arrangements are being handled by Johnson Funeral Home in Painesville.

Deeply sadden by the loss of Mr Wilburn. I shall never forget growing up next door to him and how he affectionately, always called me by my dad's name. May God comfort his family.
