Patty Naylor Obituary
Ms. Naylor passed away May 9, 2011, at her residence.
Born May 7, 1952, in Painesville, she was a longtime area resident.
Patty had been working with Morley Library since 1984, where she was the head of technical services and circulation. She was a graduate of Harvey High School and attended Ohio University and San Diego State University, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology. She also attended Case Western Reserve University, where she obtained her master's degree in library science.
She is survived by her children, Lindsey (fiancé, Jonathan Fowler) Parsons of Greensboro, N.C., Eric Parsons (Suzanne George) of Marietta and Christopher Parsons of Concord Township; mother, Geraldine (Richard) Gilles of Mentor; sister, Lori (Tim) Jackson of Mentor;, brothers Michael Naylor of Miami Lakes, Fla., and Larry (Diana) Naylor of Duck Key, Marathon, Fla.; stepsister, Patricia (Karl) Mulfold of Chardon; stepbrothers, Peter Gilles of Mentor and Paul (Donna) Gilles of Hudson; and many nieces, nephews, and loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Naylor.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

I am shocked to hear of this, Patty & I spent time together at some library conferences and she will be missed. She spoke fondly of her children and was such a sweet person. My heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and co-workers. Rest in peace, Patty.

I knew of Patty more than I really knew Patty but she was always a kind and considerate person whenever we spoke. I would see her at her job and she always had time to converse. I am truly sad to see another Harvey alum leave us but I know she is in a better place. My thoughts are with her family at this very difficult time.

It's clear to see the Holy Spirit produced much good fruit in Patty. She was loving. She brought joy. She was patient, gentle, kind and full of goodness. I'm grateful for the opportunity to know Patty and call her "Friend". My thoughts and prayers go out to all mourning her passing but also celebrating her life.

We were in some of the same classes at Harvey. We had a great talk in the library elevator just a couple of years ago, and she looked great. Watching your classmates go always puts one's own mortality in perspective. R.I.P. Patty

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always. It was so wonderful to have seen Patty and to have re-connected at our 40th High School Reunion last summer.

Beloved Patty- such a gentle and sweet spirit and demeanor. I got to know her over maybe the last 10 years or so and when I first met Patty, I felt that I had known her forever.. she always made others feel that way.. although I graduated from a different school in the great year of 1970, I feel close to many in Harvey's class of '70- I send my most sincere condolences to all of you (and other friends and family) who grieve.. rest in peace, Patty!

played together when we were little @ your house...our 1950's moms took us all fishin' @ the flats ( p'ville park)...graduated together...came back home after 40 yrs out & about to reconnect @ the library...& shared our hhs film gatherings, etc. so good to reconnect w/ your mom, jerry in march @ dave k.s' wake..you've slipped away too soon we feel! thankful for having been a part of your life! hugs to your family!
