Services for Arthur C. Gutman, 69, of Painesville, will be 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Gutman passed away Monday, April 8, 2013.
Born March 29, 1944, in Cleveland, he was a longtime Lake County resident.
He was a skilled craftsman, possessing an ability to build all kinds of things; he built replica cannons, diving helmets and a small train that runs on compressed air in his backyard. He was a member of the Buckeye Rangers Western Fast Draw Club and served in the
United States Navy
Mr. Gutman was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Painesville, as a letter carrier and most recently in building maintenance. He retired in 1996.
Survivors are his wife of 25 years, Lynette (Grinstead); children, Sean (Julie) Barnes and Michelle (Bud) Csepi, both of Mentor-on-the-Lake, Charles (Debbie) Gutman and Lisa Gutman, and their families of Fontana, Calif.; granddaughters, Angela and Ashley Edmiston and Nicole Csepi; and sister, Nancy Smith and her family of Ashtabula.
His grandson, Michael Miller, passed away June 26, 2007. His parents, Ford and Nancy (Fuller) Gutman are also deceased.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to the National Stroke Association, 9707 E. Easter Lane, Centennial, CO 80112.
