Services for Arthur C. Gutman, 69, of Painesville, will be 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Gutman passed away Monday, April 8, 2013.
Born March 29, 1944, in Cleveland, he was a longtime Lake County resident.
He was a skilled craftsman, possessing an ability to build all kinds of things; he built replica cannons, diving helmets and a small train that runs on compressed air in his backyard. He was a member of the Buckeye Rangers Western Fast Draw Club and served in the United States Navy submarine service.
Mr. Gutman was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Painesville, as a letter carrier and most recently in building maintenance. He retired in 1996.
Survivors are his wife of 25 years, Lynette (Grinstead); children, Sean (Julie) Barnes and Michelle (Bud) Csepi, both of Mentor-on-the-Lake, Charles (Debbie) Gutman and Lisa Gutman, and their families of Fontana, Calif.; granddaughters, Angela and Ashley Edmiston and Nicole Csepi; and sister, Nancy Smith and her family of Ashtabula.
His grandson, Michael Miller, passed away June 26, 2007. His parents, Ford and Nancy (Fuller) Gutman are also deceased.
