Frank M. Valentine, 93, of Concord Township, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013, at the Hospice House in Cleveland.
Born March 22, 1920, in Cleveland, he was a longtime Mentor resident before moving to Concord Township 26 years ago.
Mr. Valentine worked at General Motors for 38 years. He was an avid golfer who especially loved golfing with his son, Bill. A World War II U.S. Marine veteran, he was very proud of his grandson, Daniel Orlando, a Marine currently stationed at Camp LeJeune.
Survivors are his wife, Nancy (nee Jean) Valentine; and children, Carol (Harold) Wiegel, Barb (Mike) Walton, Vicki (Rick) Collins, Bill (Pamela) Valentine and Tami (Greg) Orlando. He was also the grandfather of Linda Pentz, Nancy Westman, Cathy (Ray) Soblesky, Steve (Jennifer) Wiegel, Mike (Lisa) Walton, Jamie (Don) Jenkins, Tina (Gerry) Scott, Brian Collins, Jennifer (Justin) Meister, Stacy (Todd) Warner, Jason Collins, Jason (Jeni) Valentine, Deidre (Ryan) Leggiero, Mathew Valentine, Andrea Orlando and Daniel (Stefanie) Orlando; the loving great-grandfather of 28; and great-great-grandfather of 17.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Ann (nee Jacoby) Valentine; parents; siblings; and great-grandson, Jakob Valentine.
Memorial Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and again from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Wednesday.
