George M. Nealon, age 87, of Concord Township, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township.

Born April 27, 1925, in Cleveland, he had lived in Willowick and Mentor before moving to Concord Township.
Mr. Nealon retired from the Cleveland U.S. Postal Service in 1984, after 36 years as a carrier in the Euclid area, and was a member of the Branch 40 Union.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, who was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge and received a Purple Heart. He was also a charter member of Magnificate Knights of Columbus in Willowick, active in little league baseball for many years, and enjoyed making doll houses, benches, stools and many wood projects at Christmas for the grandchildren. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who will be deeply missed.
Survivors are his wife, Daniela Nealon; children, Georgia (Jack) Yablonsky of Lenox, Mass., Dan Nealon of Shaker Heights, and Regina (Chris) Kilner of Oak Hill, Va.; grandchildren, Jane, Patricia, Danielle, Emily, Blair and Grace; and great-grandchildren, Makayla, Makenzie and Mariah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Martha Nealon; brother, Joseph; and granddaughter, Cecile Rose.
Funeral Mass will be held 1 p.m. Friday at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Concord Township. (Please meet at the church.) Interment will be held at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Nealon's memory to an Apert's Syndrome
