John F. Kovacic, Jr., 71, of Waverly, died Dec. 2, 2012.

He was born Feb. 22, 1941, in Cleveland, to the late John Frank Sr. and Veronica "Mickey" (Schick) Kovacic.
On Oct. 7, 2000, he married the former Deborah Kay Yeary, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Krissy Kovacic Hiser of Cleveland, John F. Kovacic III of Los Angeles, Calif.; grandchildren, Natalie and Eric Hiser; brother, Edward Kovacic of Olmsted Falls; sister, Patricia Walton of Mentor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
John was a graduate of Cathedral Latin High School, Class of 1959. He then earned his bachelor's degree from Kent State University and master's degree from Case Western Reserve.
He retired in 2006, as the director of personnel from Pike Community Hospital. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 122 Church St., Chillicothe. Military graveside services will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Haller Funeral Home.
