John L. "Jack" Hilscher Obituary
John L. "Jack" Hilscher, 78, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, passed away Aug. 21, 2013, at Hospice House surrounded by his family.
Born June 1, 1935, in Cleveland, he served in the Air Force during Korean Conflict, was a proud member of AA for 28 Years, and an active member of the Lake County Tuesday Group. Jack loved to be around his family, especially when his grandchildren were with him.
Mr. Hilscher worked as a U.S. postman for 34 years.
Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Mary (Koch); four daughters, Susan (Kirk) Bailey, Joanne (Duane) Larick, Patti (Mike) Liner and Deborah (Tim) Yearick; two sons, James Hilscher and Thomas (Dawn) Hilscher; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brother, Jerry (Paula) Hilscher.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Mercedes Hilscher.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, with funeral services to immediately follow at 4 p.m., at the Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119.
