Mary Etta Flowers was born Sept. 3, 1936, in Grenada, Miss., to Mary Louise (Gause) McDuffie and Newt Flowers.
Mary Etta never met a stranger and was willing to part with anything she had for the sake of others. She had a way of making each and every person feel as though they were the most important person in the world. She was also a fighter, as she courageously survived two bouts of breast cancer.
She attended Union Community Church, and faith was very important to her. She always reminded everyone to "just trust God, no matter what."
Mary Etta leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Regina Hall of Buffalo; adopted son and daughter-in-law, Pastor Roderick and Charlene Coffee of Painesville; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild; and a host of other family and special friends.
She resided at the home of her adopted children until her health failed. Her last moments were shared with the compassionate, caring nurses at the Lantern Nursing Home of Madison. She passed away Feb. 12, 2013.
Funeral Mass will be held noon Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at St. Columbia Perish, 418 North Division St., Buffalo, N.Y.
