Paul Thomas, 67, of Leroy Township, passed away July 2, 2013, in Claridon Township.
Born March 1, 1946, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Mentor before moving to Leroy Township 40 years ago.
Paul was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 336 of Painesville. After graduating from Collinwood High School, he worked as an inspector until his retirement. He enjoyed umpiring baseball, refereeing high school football games, and playing golf and gardening. His family will remember him as a helpful and loving husband, father and grandfather who was generous to others.
Survivors are his wife, Helen (nee Smith); son, P.J. (Crystall) of Thompson; daughter, Dana Thomas-Porche of Los Angeles, Calif.; stepdaughters, Donna Rumley of Cleveland and Angi (Michael) Bradnan of Tennessee; grandchildren, Nolan and Kendall; brother, Angelo Jr.; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Evelyn (nee Halepis); and brother, Charles.
All services will be private.
