Robert A. Orosz, 85, of Greeley, Colo., passed away Feb. 16, 2013, at Fairacres Manor in Greeley, Colo.
He was born Sept. 28, 1927, in Fairport Harbor to Gabor and Julianna (Kmeczik) Orosz.
Robert attended schools in Fairport Harbor. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Robert studied education and linguistics domestically and abroad and received degrees from The Ohio State University, Indiana University and the University of Northern Colorado.
In his working career, he taught at the college level, sold real estate and worked in library services.
A lifelong learner and a lover of languages, he studied many and mastered several.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Catherine (Carter); brother, John of Geneva; sister, Malvina Heacox of Mesa, Ariz.; sons, Robert of Westminster, Colo., James of Mountain View, Calif., Gregory of Greeley, Colo., Paul (Linda) of Denver, Colo., Edward (Natalia) of Fort Collins, Colo., Jerome (Echo) of Lemon Grove, Calif., and Michael (Lisa) of Marion, Iowa; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Gabriel, Steven, John, Joseph, George, Francis and Michael; and sisters, Anna and Margaret.
A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Feb. 25, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greeley, Colo.
