Services for Stewart Chambers Jr., 80, of Concord Township, will be 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Chambers passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at his home.
Born Oct. 4, 1932, in Canonsburg, Pa., he was a longtime Lake County resident.
He was a United States Marine Corps veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid golfer, having scored a hole-in-one twice, on the same hole at Blackbrook Country Club in Mentor. He was also a member of Collinwood Lodge 582 F. & A.M., and the Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland.
Mr. Chambers was employed as a manufacturing engineer at the former Fisher Body Division of General Motors in Cleveland. He retired after 32 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shelby (Long) Chambers; children, Diane (Richard) Turk of Willowick, Debby (Carl) Roloff of Lakewood and Stewart (Susan) Chambers III of Eastlake; grandchildren, Richard (Jen), Melissa and Jessica; great-grandson, Mason; and siblings, Robert, Barbara, Garnet, Roger, Jerry, Alice and Linda. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families; and his four-legged companion, Queenie.
His parents, Stewart Sr. and Ada Chambers; and sister, Kathy, are deceased.
