Services for Theron L. "Bud" Day, 93, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.
Mr. Day passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, in Mentor, surrounded by his family.
Born Feb. 16, 1919, in Cleveland, he had lived in Mentor for more than 40 years.
He was a United States Army veteran, serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was discharged in 1952, at the rank of Captain, after 11 years of service.
Mr. Day was employed as a personnel manager at the former Diamond-Shamrock Corporation in Fairport Harbor. He retired in 1980, after 25 years of service.
Survivors are his sons, Larry (Pat) Day of Euclid, Rick Day of Mentor and Kirk (Lynn) Day of Brunswick; grandchildren, Mike (Lynn) Day, Kenny Day and Kristen Day; and brother, Donald (Evelyn) Day of Broadview Heights.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, June "Deane" (Hotchkiss) Day March 21, 2002. His parents, Everett and Vera (Boyer) Day, are also deceased.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at the funeral home. The Rev. Robert A. Gaston will officiate at the service. Final resting place will be in Acacia Park Cemetery in Mayfield Heights.
