William V. "Bill" Kozane Obituary
"Together Again"
Mass of Christian Burial for William V. "Bill" Kozane, age 92, will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 28, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 242 North State Street, Painesville. Friends will be received 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Mulqueeny-Spear Funeral Home, 312 Eagle St., Fairport Harbor.
A Painesville resident, Bill was born on September 15, 1921, in Perry, and passed away on July 24, 2014.
Bill retired as a welder for the B &O Railroad in Fairport Harbor, and was a Foreman for the Republic Steel Lime Plant in Grand River. He also was employed by the Society of Rehabilitation. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marines.
Bill was a member of St. Mary Church and the Elks Lodge 549 in Painesville, and the Fairport Harbor Senior Citizens Center. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was also active in coaching baseball and loved watching golf on television.
He is survived by sons, William J. (Cindy) Kozane, James V. Kozane; daughter, Rebecca M. (John) Hancharik; grandchildren, Kyle Kozane, Jacqueline Rogers, Jessica Hancharik; and nephew, Joe Kozane.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie (Popely) Kozane; parents, Frank and Mary Kozane; siblings, Mary Morton, Joseph Kozane, Ann Nelson, and Margie Ross.
Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville
