Alan Schimmelman Obituary

Alan E. Schimmelman, 70, of Eastlake, passed away May 19, 2011.
He was born April 11, 1941, in Cleveland and had lived in Eastlake for the past 40 years.
He was a U.S. National Guard veteran, member of Chagrin Lagoons Yacht Club, Lake County Farmers Conservation Club, and was an avid fisherman, hunter and boater. His priority was his family and he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Schimmelman retired in 2007, from Penske Logistics in Beachwood, after 40 years of service.
Survivors are his wife of 44 years, Susan E. Schimmelman (Morgan); children, Kimberly (Scott Heffley), Craig and Kristen (Jeff Clarke); grandchildren, Matthew, Cory, Jessica, Heather, Alex, Amanda, Nicholas and Killian; sister, Janet (Harry) Bargdill; and sister-in-law, Gwenne (Phil) Stanos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Elvira Schimmelman; and parents-in-law, Regis and Charlotte Morgan.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Justin Martyr Church, 35781 Stevens Blvd., Eastlake. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
