Arthur L. Kotowski, 91, of Newbury, passed away May 29, 2013, in Newbury.

Born Jan. 4, 1922, in Mount Clemens, Mich., Arthur was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. After receiving his degree from the Laurence Institute of Technology in Detroit, Mich., he worked as an administrator for the Department of Agriculture. Previously residing in Chicago, Arthur moved to Newbury 20 years ago. He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church and worked on the Peace Committee. He enjoyed spending time at the Geauga Senior Center, gardening, remodeling, woodworking and home improvement projects. He will be remembered for his intelligence, love to work with his hands and desire to keep busy.
Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Nancy (nee Aughey); sons, Paul of Connecticut, Benjamin (Julia) of Russell, Bruce of Newbury, and Jeffrey (Mary) and Steven (Karen) both of California; daughter, Frances Hernandez of Connecticut; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was also the uncle and friend of many.
Mr. Kotowski was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
A Celebration of Life Service in memory of Art with military honors will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the East Shore Unitarian Universalist Church, 10848 Chillicothe Road (Route 306), Kirtland, with a reception and luncheon immediately following the service at the church.
Private burial will be in Oakview Cemetery, Royal Oak, Mich.
