Barry was born Feb. 26, 1935, in Middlesex, England, UK. He left England, after completing the Sixth Form, emigrating to Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
While in Windsor, he began his career in the grocery industry. He also managed the group Hi Five – "The Biggest Beat in Windsor".
After a road trip through the states, Barry settled in Burbank, Calif. He continued his career in the grocery industry, working his way up to a managerial position at Von's Grocery Stores, where he worked for over 25 years. Upon his retirement in 1990, Barry moved to Ohio and made Willoughby his home for the rest of his life. He was a loyal Cleveland sports fan and especially enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams: the Indians, Lake County Captains and the Willoughby Starzz. Barry will forever be remembered for his extreme kindness, love of family, blue ribbon chocolate chip cookies and his gardens that were known far and wide as a "riot of color".
