Betty Jean Chambers, 78, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013.
A resident of Mentor for 54 years, she was born June 25, 1934, in Toronto, Ohio.
Mrs. Chambers was an owner and teacher of The Village Day Nursery School in Mentor for over twenty years. She also taught in the Euclid School System.
Betty Jean was a longtime member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Mentor
where she volunteered for the Perpetual Adoration Program. A graduate of Lake Erie College in Painesville, with a Bachelor of Elementary Education Degree, she was an avid reader, loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Ronald E. Chambers; twin daughters, Kristy Chambers of Mentor and Rhonda (George) Parras of Shaker Heights; son, Brent (Anna) Chambers of Mayfield Heights; grandchildren, Gregory, Peter, Callie Parras, Tori and Noah Bishop; son in law, Doug Bishop of Concord Township; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Betty Jean in death is her daughter, Laurie S. Bishop; parents, John and
Mary Billie; and brother Jack Billie.
A Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Everyone please meet at the church.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
