Memorial services for Betty June King, 95, of Willoughby, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Mentor Plains United Methodist Church, 7271 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor.
Miss King passed away Monday, April 8, 2013, at her home.
Born June 30, 1917, in Cleveland, she had lived in Willoughby since 1947.
She was a graduate of Shaker Heights High School's Class of 1935 and was a member of Mentor Plains United Methodist Church, where she loved activities and valued her friendships. In her younger days, she was an accomplished baseball player along with her sister, Billie.
Miss King was employed as a bookkeeper in downtown Cleveland.
Survivors are her nieces and nephews, William (Leslie) Mason of Fairview Park, Pam (George) Sulock of Cherry Hill, N.J., Nancy Richuiti of Minot, N.D., Richard (Pamela) Reid of Defiance, James (Joy) Reid of Walnut Hills, Calif., and Molly (Ron) Lavia, Tom (Donel) Maher, Sally (Bruce) Dalley, Kathy Coulter and Sean Murray, all of Long Beach, Calif. She also leaves many great-nieces, great-nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Arthur and Hilda (Sarvella) King; and her sisters, Molly Reid, Billie Mason and Jane Maher.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to Mentor Plains United Methodist Church.
Arrangements entrusted to Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, Willoughby.
