Catherine Beth Komandt, age 85, of Middlefield, passed away Wednesday evening, March 21, 2012, at Burton Health Care.

She was born Aug. 30, 1926, in Orwell, the daughter of Walter and Elloise (nee Goodrich) Seyer.
She graduated from Middlefield High School in 1944, and was a resident of Middlefield for over 60 years.
Beth worked as a bookkeeper for Middlefield Plastics and retired in 1989.
She married Delbert Komandt Jan. 23, 1960, in Middlefield. They were married 23 years before he died Jan. 15, 1983. Her hobbies included decorating for the holidays, making crafts, and going out for a meal and a movie with her high school friend, Betty Sprague. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Her survivors are two sons, Barry (Marcia) Owen of Newbury and Doug (Sharon) Komandt of Murrysville, Pa.; stepdaughter, Sonia Moneypenny of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Scott and Tamara Owen, Douglas and Mary Komandt, Michael, Mark and Christopher Moneypenny; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Elloise Seyer; husband, Delbert Komandt; and brothers, Lawrence and Ronald Seyer.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Russell Funeral Service, 15670 West High St. (Route 87), Middlefield. A celebration of life will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
