1928 - 2012 | Obituary Condolences
Charles Dowhan passed away Dec. 27, 2012, at Hospice of Western Reserve with family at his side.
He was born Nov. 16, 1928, in Buffalo Brooks, W.Va., before moving to Perryopolis, Pa., in 1928.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945, during World War II. He then moved to Ohio in 1946, where he worked at TRW as an inspector for 40 years, before retiring in 1986. He raised his family in Eastlake.
Survivors are sons, Terrance, Christopher, Brian, and Charlie of Florida; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel; mother, Martha; wife, Geraldine; brother, Roman; and sisters, Margarete and Virgina.
Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Shoregate United Methodist Church, 30500 Bayridge Blvd., Willowick. Pastor Dr. William C. Liming Jr. will officiate. Private family burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman at a later date.
