Obituary Condolences

Charles J. Cardina Jr. passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, May 15, 2013, after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Born in Painesville to Charles J. Cardina Sr. and Mabel (Ferguson) Cardina on Aug. 13, 1941, ""Charlie"" spent his life in Painesville.
Mr. Cardina graduated from Harvey High School in 1950, and went on to serve as a member of the Seabees in the U.S. Navy's 8th Mobile Construction Battalion. After his honorable discharge, he worked for Lubrizol Corp. in Painesville, until he retired as a foreman in 1994.
He is survived by son, Michael Cardina of Timberlake; daughter, Laura (Rob) Ducsay of Fort Mill, S.C.; and grandchildren, Tyler, Justin, Bailey, and Jarett Ducsay.
Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Helen R. (Divincenzo) Cardina; his parents; brother, Tom Cardina; and sister, Mary McGimpsy.
A memorial mass will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 242 North State St., Painesville.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Painesville.
