David R. Zak Obituary
David R. Zak, age 74, of Woodhaven, Mich., passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, in his home.
Friends visited the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock Chapel Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013. A rosary service was held in the funeral home Thursday evening.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, and Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, in the Corrigan-Deighton Funeral Home in Euclid.
Mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at St. Vitus Catholic Church in Cleveland. Father Joseph P. Boznar will officiate the service. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
Born Feb. 10, 1939, in Cleveland, he was the son of Rudolph and Frances (Skufca) Zak.
On Dec. 29, 2001, he married Marie Laverty in St. Roch Catholic Church.
He was employed with J M Steel as a saleperson until retiring. David was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Rockwood, Mich. He enjoyed Lions football games, traveling, reading and going out for dinner. He loved Disney, especially Mickey Mouse. David was never one to sit still. He always had to putz around the house. He was a eucharistic minister at St. Charles Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and first wife, Florence.
Survivors are his wife, Marie Zak of Woodhaven; son, Steven Zak of Streetsboro; stepson, Chris Lewandowski of Flat Rock, Mich.; two daughters, Anita (Bert) Szilagyi of Northfield and Charlene (Anthony) Signorelli of Concord Township; five grandchildren, Sara and Eric Szilagyi, Dia, Ariel and Tarah Signorelli; and four sisters, Judy Weaver of Dallas, Texas, Therese Campbell of Duluth, Minn., Mary Ann Hunker of Ballwin, Mo, and Christine Zak-Edmonds of Peoria, Ill.
