David W. Hennie, 79, of Wickliffe, passed away Oct. 4, 2013, at Hospice House in Cleveland.

Mr. Hennie was born Feb. 19, 1934, in East Cleveland, and moved to Wickliffe 55 years ago.
He was a 53-year member of Wickliffe Midget Football, a member of Wickliffe City Club, Wickliffe Eagles Aerie 4086, Painesville Elks and was inducted into the Wickliffe Hall of Fame.
Mr. Hennie was a lineman for 20 years and a supervisor for 20 years for the Illuminating Company, retiring in 1993.
Survivors are his wife, Mary (nee Kinney); children, Debbie Vitantonio, David (Karen) and Scott (Eileen); grandchildren, Peter, Bryan (fiancée Shaina) and Michael Vitantonio and Kyle, Jeff, Maura, Tommy and Kevin Hennie; and sister, Hazel (Jim) Porz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Kalista Hennie; son-in-law, Pete Vitantonio; and siblings, Ralph, Ken, Bud, Bill, Helen Reid and Dick.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Brickman Bros. Funeral Home, 37433 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
