Donald Clayton Hamm, 79, of Cleveland, passed away July 13, 2013, at the Cleveland Clinic surrounded by his family.
Born Dec. 13, 1933, in Hellier, Ky., he had been a resident of Euclid before moving to Cleveland.
Mr. Hamm served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict as a gunners mate, and was a freemason of Lodge 28 of Painesville. Don was an avid gardener, hunter, fisherman and a Cleveland Indians fan. Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Mr. Hamm was employed as a furnace operator for 30 years at Tungsten in Euclid.
Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Mary (nee Elswick); sons, Jeffrey Hamm, Donald Christopher (Monica) Hamm and Marc Hamm; daughter, Lisa (Richard) Wayne; granddaughter, Shelly (Christopher) Bubonics; great-granddaughter, Scarlett Jennings; siblings, Eugene, Dora Ruth, Gaye, Dallas, Johnnie and Glenda; and his animal companions, Fuzzy and White Dove.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Laura Katherine Hamm; and sister, Bernice.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
